Harrisburg Park
Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted to construct the new Harrisburg Park in Harrisburg, NC. The project called for the construction (5) five new modified native soil soccer fields. Our scope of work consisted of laser-grading the subgrade, full irrigation installation, USGA 90/10 rootzone, and TifTuf Bermuda sod.

Baseball Infield Renovation
Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted for the renovation of the baseball infield at UNC Pembroke. The project consisted of Stripping and removal of the existing Bermuda, blending the existing rootzone, laser-grade to provide positive drainage, TifTuf Bermuda sod installation, new infield clay and installation, pitchers mound renovation, warning track installation, overseeding with perennial rye, and backstop under-drain installation.
A.L. Brown High School
Synthetic Turf Football Field
In preparation for there 2019, A.L. Brown High School decided to convert there natural turf playing surface to synthetic turf. Our scope of work consisted of excavation and removal of the original surface, establishing sub-grade, installing the full drainage system and installing the dynamic stone base. The new Shaw Sports Turf surface was installed by Medallion Athletics.

Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted for the construction of 4 new baseball fields for the town of Ocean Isle, NC. The project consists of laser-grading, Irrigation install, 5" USGA 80/20 rootzone installation, Infield clay and sod installation. This will be our second consecutive project with Brunswick County.

Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted to install an under-drain system on 4 soccer fields. The project consisted of laying out the new drainage system at 20' centers, sod cutting the location of the lines, drainage installation and new sod.
Walnut Creek Country Club
Goldsboro, NC
In the spring of 2017, Walnut Creek Country Club began to convert all 18 greens from Bentgrass to Bermuda. The greens were initially sprayed out by the superintendent. Our scope of work consisted of stripping all 18 greens with a Koro Topmaker to a depth of 1". The greens were then tilled, reshaped, and sprigged with a new ultra-dwarf bermuda.

Mecklenburg County
Sportsplex Phase Two
Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was awarded the contract to construct the fields for phase two of the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. Our portion will consist of (1) Stadium Soccer Field and (2) Soccer Practice Fields. The stadium field will have an 8 inch USGA rootzone and a full cambridge drainage system and sod. The two practice fields will be modified native soil fields with 419 Bermuda Sprigs. The fields are slated to begin in July 2016. Check back for updates.

Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was contracted to renovate the infield turfgrass areas of Davidson Colleges baseball field. Scope of work included removing 4-6" of built up organic black layer, importing and laser-grading new 70/30 USGA rootzone and installing 419 Bermuda sod.

Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was contracted by Pine Lake Prep for the design and build construction of there baseball and softball fields. The project consisted of field design and specifications, field construction, irrigation design and installation, modified native soil rootzone and GN1 Bermuda sod.
Gaston Day School Gastonia, NC
Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was contracted by Gaston Day School in Gastonia, NC for the design and build installation of their new baseball facility. The project consisted of field design and specifications, field construction, irrigation design and installation, modified native soil rootzone, full warning track installation and synthetic turf bullpens. We very much enjoyed working with Gaston Day School and look forward to a long relationship.
Winston-Salem Dash

Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was contracted to perform some infield clay renovations for the 2015 season. The project consisted of installing infield mix, blending and laser-grading the infield clay, resurfacing and reshaping the pitchers mound, resurfacing and reshaping the batters circle and renovating the warning track. In preparation for the 2016 season, Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. returned to the dash. The scope of work consisted of infield clay laser-grading, sod removal and replacement with thick-cut sod grown on plastic and mound renovations.

Mooresville Spinners
Mooresville, NC
Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted to rebuild the infield for the inaugural season of the Mooresville Spinners, the newest team to enter the Carolina/Virginia League. Moor Park, originally built in the 1920's, is now one of Mooresville's best kept secrets. The project consisted of design and specifications, irrigation design and install, custom blended 60/30/10 rootzone installation, laser-grading, infield warning track installation, mound construction, and Celebration Bermuda sod installation. Furr'st Athletic Fields was very proud to be a part of this project and look forward to phase two...
Rugby Athletic Center
Charlotte, NC
Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted to design and build two professional rugby fields located at the new Rugby Athletic Center located in Charlotte, NC. The project consisted of design and specifications, irrigation design and install, laser grading, rootzone, and Tifway 419 Bermuda Sod. This facility will play host to Collegiate and Professional Championships as well as, the USA Olympic Rugby Team.
MCAS New River
Recreational Facility
Furr'st Athletic Fields was awarded the contract to build a new recreational
facility located at the officers club. The project consisted of building a new FIVB/NVL/PBVL Professional Competition Volleyball Court, Professional Competition Hoseshoe Pits, Grilling Area, Under-drainage, Aggregate Base, Synthetic Turf, and Athletic Equipment Install.
Sun Valley High School
Warning Track Install
Furr'st Athletic Fields Inc. was asked to design and install a new 10' warning track around the baseball field at Sun Valley High School. The project began with measuring and laying out the the warning track perimeters. Using our Koro Topmaker, we stripped the perimeters to a depth of 2". We then used a skid loader to remove the remaining sod along the fence line. After compacting the sub-base, we installed, leveled, and compacted the Red Brick Screenings. From start to finish the project only took 4 days and gave the field a quick and inexpensive face lift.
MCAS New River
Softball and Little League Renovations
Furr'st Athletic Fields was awarded the contract to renovate an existing softball field and existing little league field on Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, NC.
Renovations consisted of Removing existing sod, Rootzone renovation, Laser-grading, Irrigation design and installation, Infield reconstruction with proper clay/sand mixtures, and Tifway 419 Sod Installation.
Marvin Ridge High School Baseball Halo
Furr'st Athletic Fields was hired to design and install a new halo for the baseball batter's circle at Marvin Ridge High School. Scope of work consisted of designing the new layout, excavating and installing the 4" aggregate base, and installing the synthetic turf.

Winthrop University
Furr'st Athletic Field Construction was selected for the renovation of Terry Field at Winthrop University. Renovation consisted of removing existing sod, blec-a-vating, laser-grading, irrigation design and installation and sodding with 419 Bermuda.
Lenoir Rhyne College
Furr'st Athletic Fields was contracted to renovate the infield. Work consisted of blecavating old turf, rootzone installation, laser-grading, infield mix and sodding with 419 Bermuda
Quail Hollow Club
Furr'st Ahtletic Field Construction was contracted to correct drainage problems on the #8, #14 and #12 fairways. Project consisted of under-drain installation and sand-slit drainage.
Porter Ridge High School (Renovation)
Furr'st Athletic Field Construction was contracted for the renovation of the football, baseball and softball game fields. Renovation consisted of deep core aerating, heavy topdressing, laser-grading, and a four month full service maintenance contract.
Forest Hills High School
Forest Hills High School had severe ponding on both sidelines of the game football field. Furr'st Athletic Field Construction was contracted to install sideline drainage. We then did a heavy topdressing and laser-grading.
Golf Course Projects
Quail Hollow Club
Quail Hollow Club, location for the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour, contracted Furr'st Athletic Field Construction to correct drainage problems that they were having. We installed new drainlines on the #8 fairway and installed sand-slit drainage. We were then asked to install sand-slit drainage on all of the #14 fairway and sand-slit a smaller ponding area on #12.
Myers Park Country Club
Myers Park Country Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious country clubs in North Carolina. Furr'st Athletic Field Construction was contracted to design and install an underdrain system on their new driving range and practice facility.
Pinelake Country Club
Pine Lake Country Club contacted Furr'st Athletic Field Construction when they decided to resurface their driving range. Project consisted of removing the existing sod, blec-a-vating the rootzone, laser-grading and laying Tif-sport Bermuda Sod.
